FAQ & Policies

How does buying from Open Box Denver work?

Three steps. (1) Reserve: find your item, pick a pickup time slot (or request delivery), and reserve it — no card needed. Higher-priced items take a small deposit to hold (10% of the price, $25 minimum, applied to your total). (2) We confirm: you get a confirmation with the pickup address, your time slot, and your total. (3) Pay at handoff: cash, Venmo, or Zelle when you pick up or when we deliver. Check the item over, pay, done. Full details on our How It Works page.

How does pickup work?

Choose Porch Pickup when you reserve and pick a time slot inside our pickup hours. Your confirmation shows the exact address and details. Bring your confirmation, look the item over at handoff, and pay by cash, Venmo, or Zelle. If you can't make your slot, message us to reschedule — reservations release automatically a couple of hours after a missed slot.

Where do you deliver and what does it cost?

Mile High Delivery covers the Denver metro (zip codes starting 800-805). Delivery is quoted per item — request a quote at checkout and we'll email it within 24 hours. Approve the quote and we schedule the drop.

What's the guarantee?

Every item carries a 3-day guarantee. If it's not as described, contact us within 3 days of pickup or delivery for a full refund — never a fee for that. Changed your mind? Returns are accepted within 3 days minus a 15% restocking fee.

When is a deposit required, and what happens if I no-show?

Items above a certain price take a deposit to reserve: 10% of the price or $25, whichever is greater, paid by Venmo. It's not extra money — it comes off your total at pickup. If you miss your pickup slot without rescheduling, the reservation releases and the deposit is forfeited, since we held the item off the market for you. Everything else about deposits is in our Terms of Service.

What payment methods do you take?

Cash, Venmo, or Zelle, paid at pickup or delivery. You never enter a card on this site, and reserving an item costs nothing for most listings (higher-priced items take a 10% / $25-minimum deposit that goes toward your total). For select larger purchases — appliance sets, furniture, and similar — we can send a card invoice through Square on request.

What do the condition grades mean?

New Sealed: never opened, factory sealed. Open Box Like New: opened, complete, no signs of use. Open Box Good: opened, works perfectly, minor cosmetic marks shown in photos. Damaged Packaging: brand new and unused inside — the box was damaged in shipping, not the item.

Why is everything one-of-a-kind?

We buy customer-return items at auction. Each item is unique — when it sells, it's gone. Join the drop alerts on the home page to get first tracks.
